Booking & Arrival
5 questions
No. All bookings must be made online through our website. This ensures availability is accurate, your details are entered correctly and your cat’s suite is confirmed immediately. Our team is always happy to answer questions by phone, but bookings themselves need to be completed online.
Check-in begins at 12pm and check-out is at 11am, Monday to Saturday. Early or late arrangements can be made for a $20 fee. During early or late check-outs your cat will wait in a holding area at the veterinary clinic while the suite is prepared for incoming guests.
We don’t provide a pet taxi service directly, however there are several pet transport services in Sydney that can bring your cat to and from Hotel for Cats. We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy periods. A few options to consider:
We do not offer tours of the Hotel for Cats. To protect the comfort, security and privacy of our feline guests we do not allow visitors to look into occupied suites. Just as humans would not want strangers viewing their hotel room while they were relaxing, we believe cats feel the same. This policy helps keep the hotel calm and settled for every guest.
The Hotel for Cats is in Blakehurst, around twenty minutes from Sydney Airport. Our central location in the St George area makes drop-off and pick-up easy for families who are travelling.

Yes. You are welcome to bring your cat’s favourite blanket or toy. Familiar scents can help your cat feel more secure and may make settling in easier. Our team places these comfort items in your cat’s private suite so they have something that smells like home.
We use a mix of premium tofu litter and clay clumping litter. This combination provides excellent odour control, good absorption and a texture that most cats find comfortable and familiar.
Yes. Every stay includes one complimentary weekly update with photos or videos and a written summary of how your cat is doing. You are also welcome to call us at any time.
Additional photo or video updates are available for $20 each. This charge helps ensure our staff spend most of their day caring for your cat rather than behind a camera.

Yes. Hotel for Cats welcomes cats with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), provided they are otherwise healthy and meet our standard admission criteria. All feline guests stay in private, self-contained suites and are never mixed with other cats. As FIV is only transmitted through deep bite wounds, our accommodation and handling practices ensure there is no risk to other guests.
Cats with FIV must be up to date with their F3 vaccination, desexed, and in good general health. We may request recent veterinary records prior to confirming a booking.
