Why Choose a Sydney Cat Hotel with On-Site Veterinary Support?

Dr Catherine Lee, Hotel for Cats veterinarian

Leaving your cat somewhere beautiful is reassuring. Knowing they will be cared for by people who pay attention to the smallest details means even more.

At Hotel for Cats, luxury goes well beyond the room. Every puddycat has private accommodation, care shaped around their personality and a team that gets to know what is normal for them. We notice who greets breakfast enthusiastically, who prefers a quiet morning and who needs a little time before inviting their feline butler in for a smooch.

Hotel for Cats is located on the same premises as Blakehurst Vet. This gives our team ready access to veterinary expertise if a concern arises, while your cat continues to enjoy the warmth and comfort of a hotel created entirely for feline guests.

It is a rare combination: exceptional private accommodation, thoughtful individual care and the reassurance of veterinary support close at hand.

Quick answer

Hotel for Cats combines beautiful private suites and genuinely personal care with the added reassurance of Blakehurst Vet on the same premises. Our team gets to know every guest and monitors their eating, drinking, toileting and behaviour throughout their stay. If something causes concern, veterinary expertise is close at hand, adding an exceptional level of confidence to your cat’s holiday.

Caring for every puddycat as an individual

No two cats settle into boarding in exactly the same way.

Some arrive ready to explore and make friends. Others prefer to watch from a favourite perch until they feel comfortable. Our team takes the time to learn what is normal for each guest and allows them to settle at their own pace.

During the stay, we monitor eating, drinking, toileting and behaviour. These simple observations help us understand how a cat is settling and alert us if something has changed.

Private suites designed around cats

Every guest stays in private accommodation, with cats from different households never mixed.

Our rooms and suites give cats space to stretch, climb, rest and watch what is happening around them. Cats from the same family can share when they already live happily together and the chosen suite is suitable.

The range includes comfortable, affordable accommodation as well as our larger Grand Suites, The Estate and Penthouse rooms for puddycats who enjoy more space.

Keeping a close eye on their wellbeing

Our team gets to know each guest through the normal rhythm of the day. We notice how much they have eaten, whether they have used their litter tray and how they respond when we enter their room.

If a cat refuses food, behaves unusually or shows signs of illness, we do not ignore it. Because Blakehurst Vet is on the premises, veterinary advice and treatment are available if required.

Our guide to what happens if a cat becomes sick while boarding explains the process in more detail.

Food and medication

We follow the feeding instructions provided for each cat and can accommodate owner-supplied food when required.

Most oral and topical medications can also be administered, provided this is arranged before the stay. All medication must be clearly labelled with your cat’s name, dosage and instructions.

If your cat needs medication while boarding, please read our cat boarding with medication guide before booking.

Reassurance while you are away

Every stay includes one complimentary weekly photo or video update with a written summary. It is a chance to see how your puddycat is settling and what they have been doing during their holiday.

Additional updates can be arranged if required.

Conveniently located in Blakehurst

Hotel for Cats welcomes guests from Blakehurst, Hurstville, St George, the Sutherland Shire and across Sydney.

We are around 20 minutes from Sydney Airport under normal traffic conditions, which makes drop-off and collection convenient for many families heading away. You can find more information in our guide to cat boarding near Sydney Airport.

What elevates every stay at Hotel for Cats

A memorable stay begins with a beautiful private suite, but it is the care surrounding your cat that makes Hotel for Cats so special.

Our team takes the time to learn each guest’s routine and personality. We monitor their appetite, water intake, toileting and behaviour, and we adapt our approach to help them feel comfortable. With Blakehurst Vet located on the same premises, veterinary expertise is also readily available if a health concern arises.

Together, these details create a standard of cat boarding that is difficult to find elsewhere in Sydney: generous accommodation, individual attention and genuine reassurance for owners.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hotel for Cats supervised by a veterinarian?

Cats are not under continual veterinary supervision during an ordinary stay. Our hotel team provides their daily care, while a full Blakehurst Vet clinic is located on the same premises if veterinary advice or treatment is required.

What happens if my cat becomes unwell while boarding?

Our team monitors each guest’s eating, drinking, toileting and behaviour. If we notice something concerning, we follow the information provided at check-in, contact the owner or nominated emergency contact as appropriate and arrange veterinary assessment when needed. You can read the full process in our guide to what happens if a cat becomes sick while boarding.

Can you care for a cat who needs medication?

We can administer most oral and topical medications when arranged before arrival. Medication must be clearly labelled with your cat’s name, dosage and instructions. Please read our cat boarding with medication guide and discuss your cat’s needs with us before booking.

Is Hotel for Cats suitable for senior cats?

Yes. Our private accommodation and individual monitoring can suit older cats very well. We also offer Senior Suites with low ramps for puddycats who find climbing more difficult. Read more about boarding a senior cat.

Will my cat share with unfamiliar cats?

No. Cats from different households are never mixed. Cats from the same family may share a suitable suite if they already live happily together.

Will I receive an update during the stay?

Every stay includes one complimentary weekly photo or video update with a written summary. Additional updates can be arranged if required.
